Route Science combines four different elements: engineering models of vehicles, traffic data, environmental information, and road segment characterization and scoring.
Key Innovations of Route Science
- Road Segment Framework: Route Science is organized on a framework of road segments, which allows StreetLight to join behavioral data with place, context and data about the road itself.
- Time Segment Framework: Route Science incorporates a new approach to organizing “transportation time.”
- Integration of low-fidelity and high-fidelity geospatial data exhaust: StreetLight’s proprietary suite of algorithms and filters combines low-fidelity tracks of locational data with high-fidelity geo-spatial data, repurposing data already being used for traffic and transportation purposes (such as navigation).
- Transform messy, low-value data into actionable, high-value information.
Route Science enables dynamic analytics that reflects the context of a location, such as whether the population of people who visit the area tend to come from the north or the south side of town.
