Marketing Associate 

We’re looking for a high-energy Marketing Associate who is passionate about building smarter cities. This position will report to the Director of Marketing and is based in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, you will design and execute marketing plans together with the Director of Marketing. It’s your chance to develop and take ownership of creative new strategies that will establish StreetLight Data as the industry leader in transportation data.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute targeted campaigns: Implement and track ROI of multi-channel marketing campaigns targeted to specific regions in partnership with Sales team
  • Manage events: draft and submit abstracts, prepare presentations, design and manage trade show booths, research and recommend sponsorship and exhibition opportunities
  • Email marketing: Manage and improve existing drip campaigns, create new email content; track impact on conversion rates through marketing funnel; utilize A/B testing to optimize processes and content
  • Customer training: Work closely with StreetLight’s Support team to develop and publish training materials, tutorials, and FAQs; draft and distribute monthly software release notes; review and recommend improvements to StreetLight InSight user interface
  • Social media: Create content and proactively manage StreetLight’s social media accounts to grow followers, increase interactions, and boost website traffic
  • Marketing operations: Develop new processes that ensure the timely segmentation and distribution of leads in close coordination with Sales Operations Manager
  • Market research: Monitor and report on competitor and industry activity, help develop differentiated messaging to set StreetLight apart other data providers
  • Support Director of Marketing with other projects as needed, including managing and updating the StreetLight Data website, improving messaging guides, reviewing RFP submissions, and other tasks.

Requirements:

  • Based in Richmond, Virginia and working full-time out of Richmond office
  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited four-year university
  • 2-3 years of marketing experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in event management, email marketing, and digital content creation
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Excited about sustainable development, urban planning, and transportation technology
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Motivated self-starter who takes initiative and manages time wisely
  • Team player who will pitch in beyond their job description when needed

 Senior QA Engineer (San Francisco, California or Richmond, Virginia)

Are you interested in Big Data, transportation, or urban planning and looking for a place to put that interest to work in the tech industry? StreetLight Data is looking for a Senior QA Engineer to join our team. This person will work to ensure that our Metrics are high-quality, and that they meet the needs of our clients who are working to solve transportation problems. The position will report to Manager, QA and Support. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that new releases of the StreetLight InSight web application are of very high quality.
  • Create and execute test plans for new features, comprising manual and automated test cases.
  • Develop new, and maintain existing QA automation test suites.
  • Do bug regression, and run sanity tests at the end of a release, as necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with Development, Product Management and Sales to make StreetLight InSight as useful and beneficial to our clients as possible.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Passion for creating high-quality products.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science from a top university.
  • 8+ years of experience in a QA role at an enterprise SaaS application company.
  • 3+ years of experience with QA automation tools, such as Selenium and/or Protractor.
  • 3+ years of experience with using SQL / RDBMS.
  • Ability to learn new features quickly, understand the user's point of view, and create complete test cases.
  • Good communication skills, and ability to collaborate with Development and QA team members.
  • Experience with geospatial data is a plus.

 Senior Data Scientist (San Francisco, California)

StreetLight Data is seeking a creative, versatile, and motivated data scientist to be part of our growing team.  This team member will lead data science projects to develop exciting new algorithms for our product, as well as help productize those algorithms into our scalable StreetLight InSight analytics platform.  This position reports to the VP of Engineering.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work with the CEO and CTO to design algorithms to infer key transportation patterns from various data sources.
  • Research and implement suitable strategies (e.g. regression models, neural networks, etc.) for solving data science problems.
  • Find and build real-world data sets for training various models and doing quality checks.
  • Productize data science algorithms within the StreetLight InSight Data platform, in collaboration with the Data Engineering team.
  • Create visualizations and dashboards to help tell stories with data.
  • Define and implement customized and/or cutting-edge solutions for customers.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • BS / MS in Mathematics, Computer Science or an Engineering discipline from a top university.
  • 5-8 years of experience in data science and/or statistics, using tools such as R or Python.
  • 2+ years of experience in SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred), and good understanding of relational concepts.
  • Strong understanding of techniques in data science (machine learning algorithms, regression analysis, etc.).
  • Strong data analysis skills, knowing what can / cannot be possible, and ability to visualize data in the best way possible.
  • Good communication skills - written, visual (presentations), and verbal.
  • Ability to deliver adequate results on deadline, and make compromises to enable scalability and productization of algorithms.
  • Geo-spatial skills are a plus.
  • Knowledge of transportation data / industry is a plus.

Senior Product Manager

StreetLight Data is seeking a Director of Product Management / Senior Product Manager to join our growing team.  You will be responsible for all aspects of product management within the company, including defining the product roadmap, creating specifications and mockups, and communicating with the sales team, customers and partners.  As the first full-time member of the product team, you will be an influential leader in a fast-growing organization.  This position reports to the CEO.
 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Work with the leadership team to define the vision and roadmap for all StreetLight InSight products.
  • Implement the product roadmap through regular product releases in conjunction with the Engineering team.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements and provide product updates.
  • Manage the product backlog, and create and maintain use cases, feature specifications and UI mockups.
  • Be point for Sales on questions related to the product, and attend calls with Sales as necessary.
  • Collect and consolidate feedback from clients and other stakeholders
  • Provide thought leadership on data and transportation through compelling product concepts.
  • Monitor the competitive landscape, and identify opportunities and threats to the business.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • BS / MS in an Engineering discipline, and/or MBA from a top university.
  • 5+ years of experience in product management at an enterprise SaaS software company.
  • Must have owned and delivered innovative software products, preferably in data analytics, transportation, or geospatial software.
  • Good communication skills - written, visual (presentations), and verbal.
  • Ability to collaborate with different functions within the company, such as Engineering, Sales and Marketing.
  • Ability to think strategically (for the product vision) as well as tactically (defining small well-specified features that add up into a bigger feature).
