Director of Private Transportation Markets

The Director will work in the fast-evolving private transportation market, which is one of StreetLight Data’s fastest growing verticals. This includes private providers of new modes of transportation such as Uber, Lyft, bike share companies, automakers exploring new mobility business models, the autonomous vehicle industry, electric vehicle charging solutions providers, private infrastructure and toll developers, and much more. In addition, this person will manage accounts in adjacent spaces such as street furniture/outdoor advertising and real estate risk assessment.

This role fuses go-to-market strategy, business development, and sales. Successful candidates will have experience tackling complex problems, fostering relationships, and developing and then executing their own strategies. Previous experience can include business development, customer success, strategy and/or strategic sales, management or strategic consulting.

This position will report to the VP of Sales and collaborate with the CEO and head of product to expand our presence in this dynamic market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive business plans and drive the execution of go-to-market and selling strategies for the private transportation market. This includes understanding the markets’ business, pricing levers, and data gaps.
  • Design and execute account plans for accounts flagged as critical from business plan work.
  • Manage and develop key partnerships to expand business in both current and new geographies.
  •  Collaborate with marketing and product teams to develop vertical-specific collateral and features.
  • Drive sales to new customers and expand existing relationships through annual and multi-year contracts.
  • Keep up-to-date with market trends and new developments, and utilize this information for business development and improvement.
  • Conduct ongoing meetings and events with key customer decision-makers with the goal of uncovering and closing new opportunities.
  • Attend relevant industry trade shows to identify new prospective customers, and promptly follow up on leads from various sources.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. MBA or MS/MA in engineering field is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, management consulting, strategic consulting, or strategic sales in a recognized technology industry or transportation field.
  • Comfort with maintaining a quota for sales to this vertical.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial "start-up" environment.

Transportation Solution Engineer (Multiple Locations - US and Canada)

The Transportation Solution Engineer will work together with the Strategic Account Representatives to identify, sell to, and support new customers in the transportation and urban planning industries. The Transportation Solution Engineer will have strong data analysis skills and be comfortable presenting to large audiences.  Previous experience working in engineering, construction, transportation, government agencies, and/or architecture is desired. There are multiple openings for this position in the US and Canada.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work closely with the Sales team to introduce StreetLight Data’s unique technology to prospective customers and to implement pilot projects.
  • Define and implement technical solutions based on the StreetLight InSight platform to meet customer needs.
  • Work with Product Management and Engineering to define the product road-map based on interactions with customers.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to guide development of sales materials, lead webinars, and prepare presentations for industry conferences and events.
  • Interface with other functional groups, project teams and internal stakeholders to effectively resolve issues and remove barriers toward the goal of jointly achieving assigned quotas.

Sales Development Representative (Richmond, VA or Denver, CO)

The Sales Development Representative will identify and qualify to new customers across all market segments. S/he has a proven track record of successfully achieving and surpassing quota goals, and has demonstrated success at identifying new opportunities. We are looking for candidates in both Richmond, VA and Denver, CO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate new business opportunities to fuel pipeline through cold calling, email outreach, and social media (especially LinkedIn); through contacting and qualifying all in-bound web leads; and through execution of marketing campaigns
  • Research and build new and existing accounts by identifying and adding contacts, sending regular emails, and setting appointments
  • Utilize a consultative, collaborative sales approach by uncovering prospects’ business challenges and determining if StreetLight InSight® will meet their needs
  • Effectively communicate the benefits of StreetLight InSight® to prospects and fully understand their needs before scheduling follow-up meetings
  • Successfully manage and overcome prospect objections, and share your insights with the broader sales and marketing team

Territory Sales Representative (Canada)

The Territory Sales Representative will identify and sell to new Engineering customers in the transportation and urban planning industries. The Territory Sales Representative has a proven track record of successfully achieving and surpassing quota goals, and has demonstrated success at identifying new, high-value opportunities. Previous experience selling to engineering, construction, transportation, and/or government agencies is desired.

Sr. Sales Operations Analyst (San Francisco, CA)

StreetLight Data is seeking a smart, quantitative, analytical, creative, and motivated sales operations professional to support our team in rapid revenue growth. As an early member of the team, the Senior Sales Operations Analyst will also have a voice in developing core sales ops processes for the company, interface processes with Marketing, and providing feedback on operations to the Executive team. This position has potential to progressively grow within the company. This position reports initially to the VP of Sales and will be based in San Francisco.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide VP of Sales with real-time data on all aspects of the Revenue Organization, spanning from Sales Pipeline, Bookings, Ongoing Account Management, and Churn & Retention
  • Expand Salesforce.com footprint from basic Opportunity Pipeline Management to Full Client Lifecycle Management
  • Manage all aspects of Sales Ops: headcount planning, quota setting, territory assignment, forecasting, & revenue projections based on forecasts and growth within actuals
  • Provide ongoing analysis and support to VP of Sales Management with regards to market segmentation, bookings, trial to buy conversion, and sales rep and marketing effectiveness

Senior Data Engineer (San Francisco, CA)

StreetLight Data is seeking a strong data engineer to be part of our growing Engineering team.  This team member will work on automating and scaling our data processing pipeline, and develop and productize new analytics algorithms into the StreetLight InSight platform.  This position reports to the VP of Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement components within the StreetLight InSight data processing pipeline (from raw input files to optimized tables used for analyses).
  • Tune the StreetLight InSight  processing pipeline for performance and scalability, and automate it to allow for for hands-off operations.
  • Develop new analytics algorithms, using a deep understanding of the raw data.
  • Implement customized analytics for clients in collaboration with Sales.
  • Work with Product Management and Application teams to productize data analytics algorithms into the StreetLight InSight web application.
  • Contribute to science projects as appropriate.

Skills and Qualifications

  • BS / MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or an Engineering discipline from a top university.

Software Engineer/Senior Software Engineer (Vancouver, Canada)

StreetLight Data is seeking a high caliber software engineer to be part of our growing team. This team member will work on both the frontend and backend of the StreetLight InSight SaaS web application that our subscription customers use to explore and visualize travel patterns in the real world. This position reports to the Senior Director of Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain customer-facing features, including both frontend and backend components, in the StreetLight InSight SaaS web application and analytics serving pipeline.
  • Deliver product releases to production each month.
  • Write automated unit tests and participate in peer design and code reviews.
  • Collaborate daily with the other developers and QA engineers on the team as well as with Product Management.
  • Productize analytics handoffs from the Data Science and Data Engineering team.
  • Tune StreetLight InSight for performance, scalability, and reliable operation to serve our growing customer base.

Senior Operations Engineer (San Francisco, CA)

StreetLight Data is seeking a creative, versatile, and motivated Operations Engineer to be part of our growing team. This team member will work with the Director of Operations and IT to maintain and expand our hosted cloud operations, as well as support our growing Development, QA and Support teams. This position reports to the Director of Operations and IT.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure smooth operations for our hosted cloud servers and applications.
  • Improve and expand our current tools and processes for security, back-ups, monitoring and resource management.
  • Research, design and implement new solutions as needed.
  • Expand cloud operations for our planned European expansion.
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation, and execute after-hours product deployments and maintenance.

Director of QA (San Francisco, CA)

StreetLight Data is seeking an experienced and hands-on Director of QA (Quality Assurance) to to be part of our growing team. This team member will own quality for StreetLight software and data products, and reports to the VP of Engineering.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure high quality for the StreetLight InSight® web application, as well as for incoming raw data and our processed analytics.
  • Lead the current QA team, and hire new team members as per the hiring plan.
  • Provide mentorship to senior and junior team members, and evolve QA processes as the team grows.
  • Plan and deliver monthly releases on time, jointly with Engineering and Product Management.
  • Collaborate with Support and Operations teams on customer cases and deployments as necessary.
  • Create, maintain and implement a strategy for QA automation for the web application, raw data, and processed analytics.

StreetLight Data is seeking a creative, versatile, and motivated data scientist to be part of our growing team. This team member will lead data science projects to develop exciting new algorithms for our product, as well as help productize those algorithms into our scalable StreetLight InSight analytics platform. This position reports to the VP of Engineering.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Design algorithms to infer key transportation patterns from various data sources.
  • Research and implement suitable strategies (e.g. regression models, neural networks, etc.) for solving data science problems.
  • Find and build real-world data sets for training various models and doing quality checks.
  • Productize data science algorithms within the StreetLight InSight Data platform, in collaboration with the Application Engineering team.
  • Create visualizations and dashboards to help tell stories with data.

Data Partnerships Manager

StreetLight Data is seeking someone with both technical data expertise as well as strategic business skills to manage, evaluate, and coordinate our inbound data partnerships and suppliers.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work with the CTO, CEO, VP Product and data engineering team to ascertain which data supply types are needed.
  • Procure data for evaluation in accordance with company data supplier guidelines and privacy practices, and manage, and take part in, the evaluation process.
  • Research and maintain a knowledge base about data supply landscape, including key characteristics
  • Come up with creative solutions to meet product needs with available sources of data
  • Procure information necessary for the VP of Privacy in performing Privacy Impact Assessments for potential new data supply sources
  • Participate in negotiation for pricing and license terms.
  • Keep track of contract renewal dates and similar partner needs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing data suppliers and potential suppliers
