The challenge

GDOT needed to solve congestion on the I-285/SR 400 interchange. Traffic volume data was scarce because no physical counters existed on new roads, and many older counters were removed during construction.

Data-based solution

What is real-time traffic data?

Real-time traffic data is data that is collected on how vehicles are moving right now. We offer real-time, near real, and historical data on traffic patterns to assist in maintenance of traffic planning and rapid response traffic management during construction projects. Real-time speeds and incident feeds are updated as frequently as every 1-2 minutes, so you get insights on how traffic patterns are changing right now.

No. StreetLight’s Construction solution is available via web-based Traffic Monitor platform. This platform provides network-wide visibility across highways, arterials, and collector roads without requiring agencies to deploy additional cameras, sensors, or field equipment. This allows teams to review, monitor, and validate construction or lane closure impacts before, during, and after more quickly and cost-effectively.

How recent is the data in the Construction product?

StreetLight provides instant always-on access to real-time and historical data that can be used to track daily traffic patterns across your network.
