Technical Support Engineer (Richmond, VA)

StreetLight Data is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to help our clients solve transportation problems using StreetLight InSight, our online platform. This team member will work closely with planners, modelers, and engineers, helping them put Big Data to work for transportation. In addition to providing comprehensive support and training, the Technical Support Engineer will play a key role in developing new materials and best practices that ensure our clients use StreetLight InSight to its maximum potential. This position reports to the Manager, QA and Support, and is based in Richmond, VA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-level and escalated technical support for users of the StreetLight InSight platform.
  • Develop clear tutorials and training videos to show how StreetLight InSight can answer key transportation questions.
  • Run regular and on-demand training webinars for new users. Create and maintain support content and FAQs.
  • Manage a high volume of inbound requests in a timely and organized manner. Improve processes to handle support requests.
  • Work collaboratively with Sales, Engineering and Product Management, to make StreetLight InSight as easy-to-use as possible.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • BS and/or MS from an Engineering, Transportation or Urban Planning discipline.
  • 3+ years experience in a Technical Support role for enterprise software applications (or similar).
  • 2+ years experience with Excel, and comfortable working with data, identifying patterns and data manipulation.
  • Quick learner, with a problem-solving ability and strong understanding of user needs.
  • Very good written as well as verbal communication skills. This job requires talking to customers often.
  • Be extremely organized and able to follow and design processes.
  • Experience working in transportation engineering/consulting, transportation agencies, or urban planning is a plus.
  • Experience with geospatial tools (such as QGIS or ArcGIS) and statistics are a plus.

Senior Product Manager (San Francisco, CA)

StreetLight Data is seeking a Director of Product Management / Senior Product Manager to join our growing team. You will be responsible for all aspects of product management within the company, including defining the product roadmap, creating specifications and mockups, and communicating with the sales team, customers and partners. As the first full-time member of the product team, you will be an influential leader in a fast-growing organization. This position reports to the CEO.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work with the leadership team to define the vision and roadmap for all StreetLight InSight products.
  • Implement the product roadmap through regular product releases in conjunction with the Engineering team.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements and provide product updates.
  • Manage the product backlog, and create and maintain use cases, feature specifications and UI mockups.
  • Be point for Sales on questions related to the product, and attend calls with Sales as necessary.
  • Collect and consolidate feedback from clients and other stakeholders
  • Provide thought leadership on data and transportation through compelling product concepts.
  • Monitor the competitive landscape, and identify opportunities and threats to the business.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • BS / MS in an Engineering discipline, and/or MBA from a top university.
  • 5+ years of experience in product management at an enterprise SaaS software company.
  • Must have owned and delivered innovative software products, preferably in data analytics, transportation, or geospatial software.
  • Good communication skills - written, visual (presentations), and verbal.
  • Ability to collaborate with different functions within the company, such as Engineering, Sales and Marketing.
  • Ability to think strategically (for the product vision) as well as tactically (defining small well-specified features that add up into a bigger feature).
  • Knowledge of transportation data / industry is a plus.
  • Quick learner, and a strong team player.
